On January 28, 2018, Wyndham Grand Foshan Hotel, one of the top ten urban landmark hotels in China, officially opened. The overall interior design was exclusively created by DDA Danuo International, which took eight years to meticulously craft.
The hotel boasts a beautiful and unique appearance. Along the architectural axis, it faces the Guanyin Lotus Throne of Xiqiao Mountain across the Xijiang River. The main building resembles a fish, a sail, or two palms joined in a gesture of greeting; the podium building is shaped like surging river waves or an opening scroll of books. The overall architecture integrates Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, embodying rich symbolic meanings.
In this project, Mr. Luo Dan, President and Chief Designer of DDA, established the design theme of "Water Culture" based on the hotel's surrounding environment and its unique shape. The design concept originates from the Chinese cultural metaphor of "fish and water blending," symbolizing "being in an advantageous and harmonious environment."
